Oakdale Park Church is located at 961 Temple SE on the southeast side of Grand Rapids. You can find a map to Oakdale Park Church here.

2. Where do I park?

Park in the main lot on Temple Street, in the parking lot on Temple east of the main entrance, or on the streets around the church.

3. What time are Oakdale’s worship services? 

Oakdale’s Morning Worship begins at 10:15 AM and lasts about an hour and half.  Insights from the Bible, Oakdale’s evening Bible study, begins at 5:00 PM and lasts an hour and meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays.

4. What is worship like at Oakdale?

  • Don’t worry about a dress code.
  • A Bible-based message of hope and direction for life, usually brought by our pastor Rev. Emmett Harrison, is central.
  • Oakdale is a diverse church. Worship welcomes folks from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, vocations and faith backgrounds.
  • Your children are welcome to worship with adults, or enjoy the nursery (infants to age three) or join Kingdom Kids or Children in Worship (age appropriate programs for children age 3 through 5th grade).
  • Have a question when you visit? There is a staffed Information Center in the lobby.

Nursery staffed by trained, screened adults is available for infants up to age 3 during Morning Worship.  Just follow the signs at the main entrance (east side). The Nursery can be found starting by the inside of the front doors; go down the steps and turn right.  The large room on your left is our Nursery. 

5.  How do I request prayer, or join others to pray?

To request prayer or to listen to the needs of others you may call our Prayer line at 616.246.6376.  To receive the Prayer line sent electronically by email you may call the church office at 616.452.5764 and request it, or you may request it (here).  To join others in prayer you may join our Prayer groups.  The groups meet either Tuesday morning at 6:00 AM (Lectio Divina – Bible based prayers) or Thursday morning at 6:30 AM (Oakdale Early Risers).

6. How do I get to know more people at Oakdale?

Friendship Lunch, which is on the second Sunday of October, November, February, March and April after morning worship, is a good place to meet others at Oakdale.

Small groups for Bible study, prayer, or fellowship, or one of several Bible studies are other ways to know more people at Oakdale.  Please call the church office at 452.5764 and we will help find a place for you.

Discovering Oakdale is an informal social event for exploring Oakdale Park Church’s vision and ministry, have your questions answered, and to meet Oakdale’s leaders.

8. What are weekday ministry opportunities at Oakdale Park Church?

The main weekly ministry is Wednesday night ministry, which takes place from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM.  Children’s programs include Nursery, Jesus’ Friends, Crew, Gems, Women of Destiny and Cadets (for infants through kids in grade 8).  Adult programs include Men’s and Women’s Bible studies and a Prayer and Share Group.  Wednesday Night Ministryis led and staffed by fifty superb, trained adult Leaders, Counselors and Helpers.
